Procedure

Nominations for each of the twelve Magna Pax et Lux Awards are submitted by individuals (10 endorsement letters are required), academies, cultural or research centers, universities, and other institutions throughout Latin America, as well as by personalities invited by the Foundation and members of the juries themselves.

As nominations are received, information is gathered in order to complete documentation for each candidate. Collaborators of the Foundation prepare summaries and reports for the juries.

Each award has its own jury, different in every edition, composed of up to twelve members selected by the Foundation’s Coordination Committee, always seeking plurality of ideas.

All juries meet via teleconference from their respective countries on the designated date to deliberate privately.

Each award is granted to the Latin individual who obtains the majority of votes cast by the members of the jury. In the event of a tie, the Chair has the casting vote.
